Richard C. Keyt: Arizona Estate Planning, Probate & LLC Attorney
Meet Ricky Keyt: The Estate Planning and Probate Attorney Who Thinks Like a CPA
Richard C. Keyt (everyone calls him Ricky) is an Arizona wills, trusts, estate planning and probate attorney at KEYTLaw in Scottsdale. Before law school he was a certified public accountant at a national accounting firm, so he reads your estate plan the way the IRS and your heirs eventually will: with an eye on taxes, numbers and what can go wrong.
Ricky's goal is simple. He wants to protect your most valuable assets, your loved ones, from the mess that follows a death or incapacity without a plan. And when a family member has already died, he guides the personal representative through Arizona probate so the family can settle the estate and move forward.
Why Clients Choose Ricky
A CPA's eye on your plan
Ricky spent three years as a CPA before law school. He understands income tax, step-up in basis and the financial side of an estate, and he drafts with those consequences in mind.
Help when someone has died
Losing a parent or spouse is hard enough. Ricky represents personal representatives in Arizona probates and explains each step in plain English so you are never guessing what comes next.
A plan that avoids probate
A will alone does not keep your family out of court. Ricky builds your estate plan around a revocable living trust so your loved ones inherit privately and without Superior Court probate.
Free first meeting, flat-fee plans
Talking to Ricky costs nothing. Estate plans and LLC formations are done for a flat fee you know up front, so you never worry about the meter running when you call with a question.
The next generation of a trusted firm
Ricky practices with his father, Richard Keyt, who has practiced Arizona law since 1979. You get decades of firm experience plus an attorney who will be there for your family for decades to come.
Meet the way you want
Meet Ricky at the Scottsdale office, by phone or by Zoom video. Arizona clients who can't make the drive can complete their estate plans with a custom revocable living trust in Ricky's office or their home.

Arizona probate
When a loved one dies with assets in his or her name alone, someone has to be appointed personal representative and administer the estate. Ricky represents personal representatives through the Arizona probate process, from opening the estate to distributing assets to the heirs. Learn more about Arizona probate.
Nonprofit corporations and 501(c)(3) exemption
Ricky forms Arizona nonprofit corporations and prepares and files IRS Form 1023, the application to become a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charity. His accounting background is a real advantage on the financial sections of that application. Learn more about Arizona nonprofit formation.
LLCs and business law
Ricky forms Arizona LLCs, prepares operating agreements and buy-sell agreements, and handles business, real estate and contract matters for business owners. He has lectured on Arizona LLCs at Arizona Summit Law School. Compare the Bronze, Silver & Gold LLC packages or hire us with the online questionnaire at keytlaw.com/llcq.
