Both of their careers are going well, and they’re being paid handsomely. But nothing is certain. Mr. Thompson has been making millions of dollars a year since he was drafted in 2011 at age 21, including $18 million this season before any playing bonuses or endorsements. But at 28, he knows that one bad injury could end his career.”
