The Associated Press reports that President Obama said he has taken immigration reform off of his agenda for the current Congressional session.  UPI reports on a poll that found:

“Seventy-one percent of poll respondents said they’d support requiring their own police to determine people’s U.S. status if there was “reasonable suspicion” the people were illegal immigrants, the poll found.  An equal percentage supported arresting those people if they couldn’t prove they were legally in the United States.”

Two different stories, but the poll results makes you wonder if President Obama recognizes the new third rail of political IEDs, illegal immigration, when he sees it.  But see “Democrats unveil immigration reform plan.”
