Lehman Brothers Has Incurred Bankruptcy Related Expenses of $641 Million in 16 Months

Bloomberg:  “Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., the investment bank liquidating in bankruptcy, paid its lawyers and other advisers $641.9 million in 16 months since September 2008 . . . .”  Quite a gravy train for the law firms representing the bankrupt debtor.  Fifteen law firms have charged Lehman $310,791,000 since September 15, 2008, the date Lehman filed its bankruptcy petition.  The debtor’s primary law firm, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Lehman’s has charged fees and costs of approximately $149.5 million during that 16-month period.
