Arizona Republic: “The chief justice of the Arizona Supreme Court appointed a retired chief justice Wednesday to oversee the ongoing legal battles among Maricopa County elected officials in a move to keep the county judicial system functioning amid myriad allegations of conflict of interest. Another county attorney and a prominent former legislator added their voices to the increasing dissent against the actions of County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, specifically criticizing them for their legal actions against Superior Court judges and county supervisors.”
