Arizona Republic:  “The State Bar of Arizona has dismissed complaints against three high-ranking Maricopa County officials, saying there was no evidence of wrongdoing by County Manager David Smith, Wade Swanson, director of civil litigation, and attorney Richard Stewart.  The complaints were submitted earlier this year by David Hendershott, a chief deputy for Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  Hendershott alleged that Smith was practicing law without a license, and alleged ethics violations against Swanson and Stewart. All three have opposed the sheriff; Smith has maintained that the complaints had no merit.”
