A red light camera in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, took a picture of a vehicle going through a red light.  Baton Rouge police reviewed the photo of a blue Mercury with Texas plates and sent the citation to a Louisiana man who owned a white GMC Yukon XL with Louisiana plates.  The innocent man had to prove that neither he nor his car ran the red light.

The Baton Rouge police department assures the public that each ticket is “evaluated by sworn members of the Police Department to verify that a violation has occurred and to determine whether a notice of violation should be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.”  Thank goodness!  I thought a dumb machine probably sent the citation to the wrong man.
