How can there be studies on the properties and benefits of marijuana when the government lists marijuana a Schedule One drug along with PCP and heroin, that is, of no medical value. Cocaine and meth - far more damaging drugs than marijuana - are listed as Schedule Two drugs. (Pharmacopia of drugs and cocaine: The leaves are chewed by tribes in South America to give them stamina at high altitudes. Use leads to eventual insanity. What is a person to think when the agency governing drugs lists marijuana in a class more onerous than the classification of cocaine and meth?

With all of the rhetoric surrounding the marijuana debate, the concept most overlooked:

Freedom of the individual.

“…over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign”.”
— from the essay On Liberty by John Stuart Mill

What happened to, "This is a FREE country"?

That is what we have been telling the rest of the world for decades.
Please, let us live up to it.

Lead by example.

After spending 5 years in Federal Prison for a marijuana offense,
I wrote:

Shoulda Robbed a Bank

No, it is not a treatise on disproportionate sentences. It is about the escapades that led to my incarceration. I admit, I had a great time. No one was injured, no one was killed, firearms were not involved...there were no victims.
We were Americans pursuing happiness in our own way. Harming no one...nor their property.

That’s my contribution to helping point out just how ludicrous our pot laws truly are.
I would be honored by your review.

I pray for Mr Williams release. If a law is wrong, it is wrong.

I live in Washington state and believe me when I say that the Initiative 502 is far from being a good thing. There are so many loopholes in this legislation that it needs to be rewritten before it becomes law. I feel that it is a "government set up" and a cash cow for the state. This law will not benefit the people that actually need it the most. It will benefit the tax collectors, the courts, and the Feds. They are saying it is to be handled like alcohol but there are very few similarities. Please read The new approach to Prohibition at the Weed Blog to get an education on this farce. Many of us that are for De-criminalizing marijuana are asking people to vote no.This is another ploy used by the greedy government to gain economic control and gather information that ordinarily they may not get.

Why is 'big pharma' not being prosecuted?
In 2009, 26,000 deaths from prescription medicines.

Deaths caused by marijuana...not a single one in recorded history.

Several years ago, I had surgery on my right shoulder. Pain medication was prescribed..."take one capsule every 4 hours."

I took one capsule.
I was down for over 20 hours. When I came to, I felt like I had been hit by a truck. The next time I felt discomfort, I smoked a small amount of marijuana ...pain gone, no after effects.

I threw the pills out.

Then I wrote:

If the dispensary is set up as a non-profit, there are no owners. What is the problem/solution in the case for non-profit status.

Also, regarding dispensaries, can a non-profit corporation later change its status to an LLC?
