American College For Advancement in Medicine, Docket No. C-3882 (final consent July 13, 1999) Respondent: American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) Type: Deceptive Health Claims ACAM advertised and promoted its non-surgical EDTA "chelation therapy" online. ACAM allegedly made false and unsubstantiated claims that its therapy was effective in treating atherosclerosis. On July 13, 1999, the Commission announced its final approval of an administrative settlement with respondents.
